If you sell things people buy with their eyes — apparel, handmade goods, accessories, jewelry — WooCommerce's image tools were built for someone else. Bossy is the only WooCommerce plugin built around a complete image workflow: organize your product photos, assign the right shot to every variation, show customers the full gallery when they pick a color.
Built by the maker behind ShesSoCraftyGoods — a real shop with 200+ variable products and real photography on everything.
WooCommerce gives you one image per variation. To assign it, you open the product, scroll to the variation, click Edit, search your media library, find the right shot, save, go back. That's one variation. Now do the math on your catalog.
When you're assigning variation images, you're working with images you already uploaded to that product. So Bossy shows you those images — not your entire media library. The picker modal shows them. The drag-and-drop pool shows them. Media Manager organizes them. The storefront gallery displays them. The whole workflow stays scoped to the product, from the moment you organize its photos to the moment a customer sees them.
Each tool handles a different part of the image lifecycle. They work independently — use what you need — but they're designed to connect.
Every product becomes a card with a draggable image strip. Drag to reorder. Set the featured image. Fix alt text. Bulk-add a new photo to every product on the page. Name every image properly so your media library is actually searchable. All without opening a single product page.
Expand any variable product in the Bulk Editor. Every variation is a card showing its current image and gallery. Click the main image zone or a gallery slot — a focused modal opens showing only the images attached to that product. Click one. Assigned. No media library. No search. Done in two clicks.
Once galleries are assigned, Bossy takes over storefront gallery rendering. Customer picks Red — the whole gallery swaps: main photo, thumbnails, lightbox, zoom. Not a single image swap. The full photo set for that variant, exactly as you assigned it.
The free version handles variation image assignment — that alone is a meaningful upgrade from WooCommerce’s native workflow. Pro adds the tools that handle the rest of the lifecycle.

No. That’s the point. The picker shows only the images already attached to that product. If you need an image that isn’t there yet, you can upload a new one or open the full media library as a secondary option. The default path is always the product’s own images.
Yes. Install the free WordPress.org version and it’s there immediately — no license key, no account, no product cap, no timer. Drag-and-drop from the pool strip and the Bossy Gallery storefront system are Pro features. The picker modal is not.
Same images, two interactions. Click-to-pick: you click a variation’s image zone or gallery slot, a modal opens with the product’s images, you click one to assign. Drag-and-drop: the same images appear in a sticky pool strip at the top of the variation panel, and you drag directly onto any variation card. Pro users have both. Free users have click-to-pick.
No. The picker reads whatever images are already attached to the product — regardless of how they got there. If you uploaded them directly in WooCommerce, they show up in the picker. Media Manager is a Pro tool for managing those images at scale, but the picker works without it.
Yes. The Bossy Gallery is built on WooCommerce’s native gallery rendering — it replaces the gallery data when a variant is selected, but the theme’s existing zoom, lightbox, and thumbnail behavior applies to the new gallery. Tested on Blocksy (Flexy), Kadence, Astra, Storefront, and TT5.
It falls back to the parent product’s gallery. You can assign galleries to as many or as few variations as makes sense — unassigned variations show the product default.
Bossy is the bulk editor for visual WooCommerce catalogs — assign variation images from your product shots in two clicks, undo when you bulk-edit wrong, and skip the spreadsheet cosplay. Download free and start assigning the way it should have always worked. Upgrade to Pro for the full workflow.
