See It In Action

This is what running your shop actually looks like.

Every screenshot is from a real WooCommerce store with 200+ products. No demo data. No fake SKUs.

Your whole catalog in one screen.

Search, filter, and edit inline. Variable products show their variation count — click to expand. Every field editable without leaving the row.

  • Inline title, SKU, price, stock, status editing
  • Filter by keyword, category, type, status
  • Variable products show variation count as a pill
  • Snapshot restore always one click away

Oh, you too?

WooCommerce's bulk editor
has a lot of nerve calling itself that.

01

You have 80 products. WooCommerce's suggestion is to open them one at a time. Respectfully: no.

Need to bump every price 10% before a sale? Update shipping weights after your carrier changed rates? Click, edit, save, repeat — forever. There goes your afternoon.

02

WooCommerce knows your variations exist. Its bulk editor just refuses to deal with them.

Colors, sizes, materials — that's how real shops sell. But when it's time to bulk edit? Variations go invisible. Editing variation prices or images means opening every product, every variation, one at a time. We don't have that kind of time.

03

Four plugins. One job. Zero of them talking to each other.

A bulk editor for fields. A separate plugin for variation images. Another for gallery management. A CSV importer on top. None of them talk to each other. Plugin fatigue is real, and it costs real money.

04

One wrong bulk apply. No undo. Have fun explaining that to your store.

You bulk-applied a price change to the wrong filtered set. Or an import overwrote good data. There's no safety net. You're fixing it manually, row by row, while your store is live.

How Bossy Works

One screen. Your whole catalog.

Open Bossy. Filter to the products you need. Edit inline, bulk-apply changes, expand variations in place. Every write snapshotted before it runs. That’s the whole workflow.

1

Filter & select

Search by keyword, category, type, or status. Check the rows you need.

2

Edit inline or bulk-apply

Click any field to edit it directly. Or pick a bulk action and blast it across your selection in one click.

3

Expand variations in place

Click a variable product to edit every variant — price, SKU, stock, images — without leaving the row.

4

Restore if anything goes sideways

Every bulk write is snapshotted first. One click to undo. No developer. No panic.

Designed to Disappear

Built to stay out of your way.

Most bulk tools hand you your entire catalog as one overwhelming wall of cells and hope you find what you need. Bossy does the opposite.

The Full Stack

Six modules. One plugin. One less thing to duct tape.

Bossy replaces the stack of plugins you've been duct-taping together.

Module 01

Bulk Editor

Your entire catalog in one screen. Edit titles, SKUs, prices, stock, categories, shipping class, and descriptions inline. Expand variable products to edit every variation in-place — price, SKU, stock, weight, dimensions, and images. For shops with real photography, every variation gets its own image picker showing only that product’s attached photos. No new screens. No clicking through products.

  • Inline editing for 12+ product fields simultaneously
  • Full variation editor inside each product row — no new screen
  • Pro Generate all variations in one click — build the full size × color matrix with no cap, chunked automatically with a live progress readout, and reversible in a single undo
  • Bulk price (set / % / $), stock, weight, dimensions, and shipping class
  • Bulk SKUs — sequential scheme with prefix, start number, digit width, and separator
  • Auto-fill short descriptions from long descriptions (3 sentences)
  • Stacked filters: category, type, status, shipping class at once
  • Row save + Save All, with snapshot protection on every write
  • Variation image picker — click any variation to open a focused modal showing only that product’s attached images; assign in two clicks, no media library required
  • Pro Sticky image pool strip — same product-attached images now draggable directly onto any variation card; pool scrolls with you
  • Pro Customer personalization field — label, placeholder, required toggle; travels cart → order
Module 02

Media Manager

Pro Pro feature — included in all paid plans

Every product's images in one place. Drag to reorder, set featured image, fix alt text, bulk-add images — without opening a single product page. And with one click, give every image a clean, product-named title so your Media Library is finally searchable.

  • Drag-and-drop gallery reorder per product card
  • First position automatically becomes the featured image
  • Bulk "add one image to every product on this page"
  • Set all titles — product-named image titles that make your Media Library searchable, not just SEO-ready
  • Auto-set alt text from product description (exclusive-use check included)
  • Per-image Title, Alt text & Caption in the image popout — edit and save without leaving the card
  • Search matches product title and tags, so you find the right cards fast
  • Save All or per-card saves, both with snapshot protection
Module 03

Variation Gallery System

Assign variation galleries in the Bulk Editor — click-to-pick (free) or drag-and-drop from the image pool strip (Pro) — then flip the gallery switch in Settings. From that point, every variant shows its own full photo set on the storefront: main image, thumbnails, lightbox, zoom. Not a single image swap. The whole gallery. See the complete image workflow →

Pro Pro feature — included in all paid plans
  • Master switch in Settings tab enables Bossy gallery rendering globally — settings save and stage even while the switch is off
  • Per-variation multi-image galleries on the storefront — full gallery swaps on attribute selection
  • 5 layout presets: Classic, Side Left, Side Right, Filmstrip, Tiled Collage
  • Configurable: thumbnail size, gap, height, corner radius, zoom toggle
  • Tested on Blocksy (Flexy), Kadence, Astra, Storefront, TT5 on every release
  • Related gallery styling and runtime control from Settings tab
Module 04

CSV Importer

Pro Pro feature — included in all paid plans

Coming from Etsy or Shopify? One click auto-maps your export. Building your catalog in Excel or Sheets? Map it once, save the preset, re-run anytime. 274 images/min. No babysitting WooCommerce's default importer.

  • One-click auto-map for Etsy and Shopify exports
  • Save column mapping presets — reuse on every import
  • Imports simple, variable, variation, external, and grouped products
  • Auto-creates parent variable products from variation-only rows
  • Idempotent: re-run the same CSV without creating duplicates
  • Background image queue — 274 images/min benchmarked throughput
Module 05

Snapshot Undo

Before every bulk write, Bossy captures a snapshot. Made a mistake? One click — it's back. No developer. No panic. No manually fixing 80 rows while your store is live. In v1.10.12 the whole restore engine was rebuilt for reliability — every revert is now verified, so “undo said it worked but nothing changed” is gone.

  • Verified restores — Bossy confirms each reverted value actually matches the snapshot, not just that it tried
  • Captured up front, one entry per save — a whole “Save all,” parent plus variations, rolls back in a single click
  • Reverts in place — the grid updates to the before-state with no page reload
  • Race-locked — a double-click or second tab can’t run the same restore twice and tangle your data
  • Free in the Bulk Editor with no product cap — covers bulk price, stock, categories, tags, shipping, package, variation fields, gallery saves, and product/variation trash
  • The same engine extends to the Pro-only tools too — Variations Tab bulk edits and Media Manager
  • Persistent undo bar — no developer, no database access
Module 06

Variations Tab

Pro Pro feature — included in all paid plans

A dedicated surface just for variations. Every variation across every product in one filterable, pageable grid. Bulk-edit price, stock, sale dates, shipping, images, and gallery — across variations only, without touching the parent product grid.

  • Dedicated variation grid — pageable, filterable by product, status, and stock
  • Bulk price, stock, sale dates (including force-off), and shipping class
  • Bulk image assignment and chunked gallery replace with progress feedback
  • Grid shows weight, dimensions (L × W × H), and shipping class inline — verify bulk changes without opening a product
  • Hidden state toggle — saves and persists after reload
  • Clear action resets all filters and selection with confirmation
  • Full snapshot undo coverage on all variation bulk writes
Bonus Feature

Customer Personalization

Pro Pro feature — included in all paid plans

Add a customer text field to any product for engraving, personalization, or custom messages. Configure the label, placeholder, and required status per product. The customer's text travels from product page to cart to order and appears on the order line item. Configurable in the product editor and via the Bossy bulk grid.

  • Per-product enable/disable, label, placeholder, and required toggle
  • Global settings: max input character limit and input width slider (%)
  • Server-side max length enforcement — not just frontend
  • Input value captured in cart and written to order line item metadata
The Big Picture

How it all fits together.

Edit everything at once Bulk Editor handles your entire catalog in one grid — titles, prices, stock, SKUs, categories, and descriptions without opening a single product page.
Variations are first-class Expand inline to edit all variants in place, or switch to the Variations Tab for a grid of every variation across every product. Both covered. Both Pro.
Images and galleries in one place Media Manager fixes gallery order, alt text, and titles in bulk. Variation Gallery System makes your pink variant show pink photos — full gallery swap, not just a single image.
Migrate without the headache CSV Importer auto-maps Etsy and Shopify exports. Save your column mapping once, re-run anytime. 274 images/min. No babysitting WooCommerce's default importer.
Every write is snapshotted Before every bulk action, Bossy saves the before-state. Bad apply? One click to restore. No developer, no panic, no fixing 80 rows while your store is live.
Personalization travels with the order Customer input field goes from product page to cart to order line item. Engraving, custom messages, monograms — configured per product, enforced server-side.

Questions

The answers before you have to ask.

Will Bossy slow down my WooCommerce store?

No. Bossy is an admin-only plugin — it loads zero assets on your storefront. The only exception is the Variation Gallery System, which loads a small CSS/JS file on product pages when you have that feature enabled. Everything else runs inside WP admin only. If you use a cache plugin, see the caching compatibility guide.

What happens if I bulk-edit the wrong products?

You restore a snapshot. Before every bulk write, Bossy captures the before-state to a dedicated database table. Made a mistake? Pull up the snapshot list, pick the timestamp, click restore. No developer, no database access, no panic. This is the feature we built first.

Does it work with my theme?

If you're on Blocksy, Kadence, Astra, Storefront, or Twenty Twenty-Five, yes — all five are E2E tested on every release. For other themes, the Bulk Editor, Media Manager, CSV Importer, and Snapshot Undo work everywhere since they're admin-only. The Variation Gallery System has been tested on the five listed themes; other themes may need minor CSS adjustment.

Will it break my existing products or variations?

Bossy reads and writes standard WooCommerce product meta — the same fields WooCommerce itself uses. No proprietary data structures. No lock-in. If you uninstall Bossy, your products stay exactly as they were. The snapshot table is the only Bossy-owned database table, and it can be cleared from the Danger Zone tab.

What does the free version actually include?

The free tier is not crippled. You get the full Bulk Editor — inline editing for 12+ fields, the complete variation editor, bulk price/stock/dimensions/shipping/SKUs/tags/categories, sale dates, scheduled publish, and Snapshot Undo with no product cap. Pro unlocks Media Manager, Variation Gallery System, CSV Importer, Variations Tab, Customer Personalization, and the drag-and-drop variation image tools.

What if I cancel my Pro subscription?

You keep everything you've already done. Your products, your galleries, your imported data — all of it stays in WooCommerce. You lose access to Pro features going forward, but nothing gets deleted or broken. Downgrading to free means the free tier features keep working normally.

I'm migrating from Etsy or Shopify. Does Bossy handle that?

Yes, and it's the reason we built the CSV Importer. Drop in your Etsy or Shopify export and Bossy auto-maps the columns — no manual field matching required. It handles simple products, variable products, and variation children. Saves your column mapping as a preset so re-runs are one click. 274 images/min background import queue so you're not sitting there watching a progress bar.

Can I use Bossy on a staging site?

Yes. The Brand plan (3 sites) and Agency plan (10 sites) are specifically designed for staging + production workflows. Each license covers any WordPress install — staging, local dev, and production all count. The Maker plan (1 site) covers one install, so if you need staging too, Brand is the right tier.

What’s New · v1.10.17 2026-07-01
  • Generate unlimited variations — no cap — Generate All Variations no longer stops at 200 combinations. It builds the full matrix in automatic chunks (50 per pass) with a live “Creating variations… X / Y” readout — a 500-variation product (10×10×5) generates in one click. Existing combinations are skipped or updated in place, never duplicated.
  • One undo for the whole run — every chunk commits to a single snapshot, so one Restore reverses an entire generation. Verified: 500 variations back to zero from the undo bar.
v1.10.16 2026-06-26
  • Category dropdown stops hiding behind the grid — the category checklist now floats above the table instead of getting clipped by it, and flips above or below depending on where the row sits.
  • Tag and description panels clear the Save dock — open a tag or description drawer and it sits above the floating Save/Trash bar instead of fighting it; the dock steps aside while you work.
  • Your store’s units, right in the grid — weight and dimension columns now show your WooCommerce units (oz, in, whatever you’ve set) in the headers and inline fields, so you’re not guessing.
  • Last row stays reachable — extra breathing room at the bottom of the grid so the final row isn’t trapped under the action dock after a sort.
v1.10.15 2026-06-26
  • Pro tab — variation image positioning — The in-plugin Get Pro tab now leads with the drag-and-drop variation image workflow. Image-forward shops see the feature that matters most to them before anything else.
  • Free upsell copy updated — The Pro upsell shown to free users is now positioned around the variation image workflow — click-to-pick is yours, drag-and-drop is one upgrade away. Clear, honest, no bait-and-switch.
v1.10.14 2026-06-26
  • Variation image picker — Free — Clicking a variation’s main image zone or gallery slot now opens a focused modal showing only the images already attached to that product. No media library. No searching through thousands of unrelated uploads. Your product shots are right there — click one and it’s assigned. See the full image workflow →
  • Product-scoped. Always. — Every image tool in Bossy is now scoped to images attached to that product: the picker modal, the drag-and-drop pool strip, Media Manager, and the storefront gallery.
  • Pro — drag-and-drop alongside click-to-pick — Pro installs get both. Drag directly from the pool strip onto any variation card, or click to open the picker. Same product-scoped images either way.
v1.10.12 2026-06-23
  • The restore engine, rebuilt — Snapshot Undo got a ground-up reliability pass. Every restore is now verified — Bossy confirms each reverted value actually matches the snapshot — so “undo said it worked but nothing changed” is gone for good. Restores are captured up front, grouped into one entry per save, and race-locked so a double-click can’t tangle your data.
  • Undo reverts right in the grid — Roll back stock, package, dimensions, and variation fields and watch them revert in place — no page reload to see the before-state.
  • Bulk stock reaches every variation — Bulk stock now applies to each variation card on a variable product (not the locked parent cell), and undo restores every variation’s prior stock.
  • Free, with no product cap — The rebuilt engine ships in the free plugin and covers every free bulk action. Go Pro and the same engine also backs the Pro-only tools — Variations Tab bulk edits, Media Manager, Find & Replace — so even your heaviest catalog moves are one click from reversible. See Pro plans →
v1.10.11 June 2026
  • Sale dates fire exactly when you set them — Fixed a timezone bug where sale start/end dates were read as UTC instead of your store’s local time, so sales sometimes never went live. They now activate on schedule — including variation and CSV-imported sale dates.
  • On-sale price syncs instantly — The active price force-syncs to the sale price the moment a product goes on sale, so storefront, catalog, and sale badges all agree.
v1.10.10 June 2026
  • Undo reverts categories, tags & personalization in place — The in-place grid refresh after a restore now also rolls back category, tag, and custom-input columns — not just price, SKU, stock, and dimensions.
v1.10.9 June 2026
  • Every edited column reverts instantly — Restoring now refreshes every edited cell in place — title, status, weight, dimensions, manage-stock, shipping class, and stock — instead of leaving the new value until a reload.
  • Snappier single-row saves — Single row and single-variation saves capture their snapshot in the same request (one fewer round-trip); big saves keep the race-free up-front capture.
v1.10.8 June 2026
  • Partial restores don’t abort — A SKU conflict on one field no longer kills the whole restore — every other field still reverts, and the undo bar tells you when a big batch came back only partially so you know what to review.
  • Multi-variation saves = one undo — Saving many variation rows groups into a single restore entry that reverts reliably across dozens of cards.
  • Cleaner sequential SKUs — Start number uses leading-digit padding (start 9 + 4 digits → PREFIX-9000), and batch renumbering clears old SKUs first to avoid collision suffixes.
v1.10.7 2026-06-21
  • Your variation images show up right away — Open a variable product and every variation’s assigned image is already there, with a clear + cue on empty slots so you always know where to drop or click. Works in Free and Pro.
  • Galleries stay put after you save — Variation main images and galleries now stay in sync through save, collapse, and re-expand — no more slots that look empty right after you pick or drag an image.
  • Variations Tab bulk actions, fixed — Row selection and Apply work again while you filter or select variations on the Pro Variations Tab.
  • Clearer save feedback — You get an obvious on-screen message if a variation gallery save doesn’t go through.
v1.10.6 2026-06-20
  • New: Clear all variation images — One button in the variation panel wipes every variation’s main image and gallery for a product — without touching your parent product gallery. Available on Free and Pro.
  • Accurate variation imagery — Variation cards now read their own assigned media, so a parent’s featured image never masquerades as variation gallery content.
  • Clearer clear — The clear action shows a busy state while it runs, so you know it’s working.
v1.10.5 2026-06-19
  • Bulk edits stay in place — Bulk actions now update your rows right where they sit instead of reloading the whole grid — your scroll position and selection stay put, even for sequential SKU updates while a SKU sort is active.
  • Steadier variations & galleries — Variation and gallery workflows are more reliable across modern WooCommerce themes.
  • Safer everyday edits — Refinements to undo and bulk-edit behavior for smoother day-to-day catalog work.
v1.10.4 June 2026
  • One-click diagnostics logging — A new Settings toggle turns on Bossy’s diagnostics logging — no code edits — capturing the schedule, save, and undo paths so store-specific issues are easy to trace when you need to.
v1.10.3 2026-06-18
  • Scheduled publish: minute-level fix — Hardened datetime handling so scheduling a product in the current minute no longer fails as “not in the future.”
  • Scheduled publish: cron reliability — Explicitly re-queues the core publish_future_post event for selected products, improving reliability on cron-driven hosts.
  • Admin watchdog — Adds a Bossy warning when scheduled products are overdue (stuck in future status) with actionable cron guidance.
v1.10.2 2026-06-18
  • SKU sort with blanks — Sorting the bulk grid by SKU now keeps products with blank or missing SKUs in the list, with blanks appearing first on ascending sort.
  • Stock column accuracy — Stock quantity now populates from edit context and stored metadata even when stock tracking is disabled on a product.
  • Variation card dedup — Variation card headers no longer display duplicate gallery thumbnails.
  • Snapshot restore fix — Undo correctly handles sequential SKU reassignments across rows during restoration.
  • Undo grouping — Parent and variation saves are now grouped into a single undo entry rather than creating multiple entries per field.
v1.10.1 June 2026
  • SKU scheme right-padding — Sequential SKU scheme now right-pads the start number to match the specified digit width.
  • SKU preview consistency — SKU scheme preview in the bulk editor matches server apply logic exactly.
v1.10.0 2026-05-25
  • Pro Variations tab — Dedicated Pro-only variation operations surface with premium routing/gating, asset wiring, and a paged/filterable variation grid.
  • Variation bulk operations — Bulk actions for variation price, stock/manage stock, sale dates (including force-off), shipping, image, gallery replace (chunked), and hidden state workflows.
  • Variation media batching — Chunked variation gallery replacement flow with progress feedback and bounded chunk processing.
  • Variations tab filter UX — Clear action resets all filters and selection and reloads page 1 with a confirmation prompt when rows are selected.
  • Undo/snapshot coverage — Extended snapshot action coverage and labels for new variation bulk endpoints to keep restore behavior consistent across Pro workflows.
  • Variations tab card layout — Standardized second-row function card height behavior so expanded cards remain visually balanced.
  • Free/Pro entitlement behavior — Tightened Pro-only enforcement and wording for variation gallery drag/drop and related premium-only paths.
  • Variations test stability — Hardened E2E flows for environment variance to reduce false negatives.
  • Destructive/admin URL reliability — Updated destructive and import-related E2E coverage to resolve current Bossy admin slugs.
  • Import benchmark resiliency — Improved long-run import test timeout handling for large datasets.
  • Docs consistency pass — Normalized chapter intros/version markers and removed draft language across published docs.
  • Free vs Pro clarity — Updated docs to explicitly call out Pro-only variation gallery drag/drop behavior and Free fallback flows.
v1.9 Released · June 14, 2026
  • Find & Replace → Pro — Removed from free AJAX registration. UI bar shown only when Pro access is active.
  • CSV Export → Pro — Pro-only AJAX endpoint and UI. Scope options: filtered (default), selected, all. Column set: all fields (default) or visible columns.
  • Inline Attributes Editing → Pro — Editable Attributes column in the grid using compact summary format (Color: red|blue; Size: s|m). Free users see a Pro note. Included in undo snapshot capture/restore.
  • Bulk Clone / Duplicate → Pro — Clone bar with copy count (1–10), clone status (draft/publish), and SKU mode (clear/keep). Clones selected products and refreshes grid on completion.
  • Scheduled publish date → Free — Bulk schedule selected products with full undo snapshot support.
  • All tag functionality stays free — Tag import underscore normalization, inline grid tags column/editing, and bulk tag add/set/remove all remain in the free tier.
  • UI refinements — Collapsible bulk action accordion (one section open at a time), localStorage-persisted open/closed state, sticky slim action bar with selection count, secondary actions moved to “More” dropdown.
  • Validation & packaging — PHP lint clean on all touched files. IDE lints clean. Release package rebuilt: dist/bossy-bulk-editor.zip + versioned zip + .sha256.
v1.8.18 May 12, 2026
  • Smoother Free + Pro experience — licensing and feature access were streamlined so tabs, permissions, and upgrade paths feel more consistent across the plugin.
  • Customer input, now safer and cleaner — personalization text fields now enforce a clear character limit with better validation, so shoppers can’t submit overly long entries.
  • Danger Zone improvements — destructive tools were tightened for clearer, safer bulk actions when deleting products and product-linked images.
  • Cleaner admin UX — premium tab behavior and upgrade notices were refined so navigation is more predictable and less noisy.
  • Stability and coverage upgrades — regression testing was expanded and stabilized across key workflows and themes, helping prevent breakage before release.
Bulk Editor

  • Full variation editor inline — expand any variable product and edit price, SKU, stock, weight, dimensions, and images without leaving the row

  • Stacked filters: category, type, status, and shipping class simultaneously
  • Regular and sale prices displayed and saved with two decimal places throughout

Bossy
About

I built the plugin I kept screaming for.

I run ShesSoCraftyGoods — 200+ products, variable everything, constant catalog changes. WooCommerce's bulk editor doesn't touch variations. The plugins that do are expensive, don't talk to each other, and have no safety net. I lost an afternoon to a bad bulk edit once. Never again.

So I built Bossy. I use it every week on my own shop. Every feature exists because I needed it and nothing on the market did it right. This is a maker tool, built by a maker, for makers who have actual work to get back to. If something's missing, tell me.

Security

Built secure from day one.

Bossy makes bulk writes to your database. We take that responsibility seriously.

Prepared statements throughout

Every database query in Bossy uses $wpdb->prepare(), absint(), and typed inserts. No raw SQL concatenation in plugin-owned code. LIKE values are escaped with $wpdb->esc_like() before binding.

Nonce + capability checks on every endpoint

All AJAX endpoints verify a nonce via check_ajax_referer() and enforce capability checks (edit_products, edit_post, delete_post) before touching any data. No wp_ajax_nopriv_* routes exist in Bossy.

Destructive actions require explicit confirmation

Danger Zone operations — bulk product deletion, image removal — are protected by nonce verification, capability enforcement, and typed confirmation strings. There is no one-click path to data loss.

Multiple security passes before launch

Security reviews were conducted at multiple stages of development — not as a single end-of-cycle audit. Every DB-touching function was enumerated and verified against prepared statement, sanitization, capability, and nonce patterns.

No sensitive data in URL parameters

Import sessions are scoped to the uploading admin user via transients. Background media runner arguments are bound to the initiating user. No sensitive tokens are passed in query strings.

Listed on WordPress.org

Bossy is officially listed in the WordPress.org plugin directory, approved June 2026 — verifying adherence to WordPress coding standards, security practices, and repository guidelines.
